The Governing Body of the school is made up of people from a variety of backgrounds. Governors work with the Headteacher and are responsible for setting the strategic direction of the school. If you are interested in being a Parent Governor there is information in school to help and advise you.
Please ask the Headteacher if you are interested.
Hi. I’m Nigel Turner, Chair of Governors for 10 years, and over that time I’ve built up a strong knowledge of the School. My role is to oversee the strategic direction and leadership of the School, so that every child has the best possible opportunity to learn and succeed.
I work in Leeds as an accountant and take a keen interest in the funding and financial health of the School to ensure that we make best use of the resources that we have. I have two children who have been through primary school in Leeds and so I hopefully know the things which are important to you as parents.
Outside of work, I enjoy most sports, especially Leeds Rhinos, Yorkshire Vikings and Walsall FC.
Please feel free to drop me a line via the School if you have any questions or suggestions to make Cross Gates Primary even better.
Hi I’m Miss Smith, Staff Governor. As a former pupil of Cross Gates, I was absolutely delighted to return some years later as a qualified teacher. I am qualified to teach the whole age range in Primary School, but I opted to specialise in Early Years, where most parents will know me from.
I absolutely love my job and I consider it a privilege to teach young children. I have lots of interests outside school, but my passions are music and theatre.
